Heat Transfer liquid for high thermal load (VACUMM TUBE) solar installations premixed 1.2 propylene glycol

®PEKASOLar V is a pink, fluorescent liquid pre-mixed at 1.2 propylene glycol for the use as heat transfer liquid in solar thermal systems where the heat carrier medium can evaporate (e.g. vacuum tube collectors) with highly effective corrosion protection additives and stabilizers for the prevention of corrosion build-up and mineral precipitations. ®PEKASOLar V is free from secondary amines and, at room temperatures, solid, inorganic inhibitor components.

Properties
The inhibitor system protects all commonly used metallic materials (with the exception of galvanized steel) safely against corrosion and sedimentation (tested pursuant to ASTM D 1384-96).

Usage
®PEKASOLar V can be used in collectors with short stagnation temperatures up to 320°C. Permanent loads above 170°C or temperatures above 200°C will cause thermal breakdown of the propylene glycol, causing the fluid to become brown.

An oxidation blocker, especially developed for these temperature ranges, has been added which will slow this breakdown however once the fluid has changed colour the life of the heat transfer fluid is greatly diminished.
